4th Annual Public Lecture Dulcie September – 14 March 2024

Dulcie September

We are delighted to announce that Freedom Park together with EMS Productions will host a Public Lecture on anti-apartheid activist Ms Dulcie September on the 14 March 2024. The Lecture will be delivered by Ms Tessa Dooms Director of Programmes at the Rivonia Circle.

Dulcie September, a courageous figure in the anti-apartheid movement, will be remembered for her unwavering commitment to justice and equality. Her life was tragically cut short by an assassination in 1988, yet her legacy continues to inspire generations.

September dedicated herself to the fight against apartheid in South Africa, tirelessly advocating for the rights of the oppressed. As an activist and representative of the ANC in France, she fearlessly confronted the oppressive regime despite facing constant threats to her safety. However, her activism and unyielding pursuit of freedom made her a target of those who sought to silence dissent.Though her physical presence may have been extinguished, her spirit of resilience and commitment to justice continue to inspire generations to stand up against tyranny and fight for a better world.

Dulcie September’s legacy serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made in the struggle for liberation and the enduring strength of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
