Job Purpose |
The purpose of the Corporate Services department is to cascade the strategic objectives of Freedom Park to the operational levels of the department, to ensure systematic implementation of the organisational strategy across all levels of the organisation. This will be to: 1. Position Freedom Park as a symbol of national identity, marketing and promoting Freedom Park to all key markets and audiences, increase visitor numbers coming to Freedom Park, offer memorable visitor experiences to all guests and visitors, generate revenue through venue hire, admission fees and all other product offerings; 2. Protect the brand image of Freedom Park and service all major stakeholders; 3. Provide business solutions in terms of Human Resources management, Talent management; and 5. Infrastructure and facilities management. |
Job Objective |
To ensure: -efficient and effective brand positioning and marketing policies, strategies, and plans; -efficient and effective Infrastructure and facilities’ policies, strategies, and plans; -efficient and effective Human Resources policies, strategies, and plans; -effective security function, safety and protection of Freedom Park’s assets, employees and visitors; -effective contract management; -effective budget planning and expenditure management; full functionality of Freedom Park; -effective management of infrastructure grants; -effective management of employee costs; -effective internal and external stakeholder management and relations. |
KEY ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
HUMAN RESOURCES
Oversee the management of Human Capital Management services:
- Develop Human Resources strategies, policies and plans in the areas of Recruitment, Retention and Termination, Talent Management, Employee Relations, Performance Management and Remuneration
- Drive the provision of integrated Human Resource Development initiatives aimed at enhancing individual and organisational performance
- Oversee and facilitate the provision of labour relations services
- Provide Leadership, HR administrative support to employees and the organisation
- Provide HR advisory support to the department and organisation
- Formulate HR operations budget and employee costs expenditure
- Ensure effective management of employee contracts
- Manage third-party HR contracts dealing with benefits and wellness
- Manage employee relations
- Ensure effective performance management for the Corporate Services department
- Ensure alignment of Corporate Services with Freedom Park’s mandate
- Ensure change management principles with Corporate Services staff
- Ensure Corporate Services staff development and career succession.
INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT
Oversee property and assets services, fleet, and physical security services:
- Develop business plan for infrastructure grants through User Asset Management Plans (UAMP)
- Develop preventive maintenance plans
- Monitor the provision of security management services
- Formulate facilities and security management budget and expenditure
- Ensure effective management of procurement, implementation and close-out of contracts and SLAs related to capital projects, security and facilities management
- Develop risk mitigation plans and controls
- Monitor implementation of risk mitigation tasks
- Deliver a desired risk residual result
- Manage contracts
- Manage local, continental, and international stakeholders
BRAND AND MARKETING
Develop sound strategic relationships with relevant stakeholders to serve the interests of the organisation
- Develop Integrated brand and marketing strategies, policies and plans in the areas of, Positioning, Brand and Marketing, Communications, Media, and Stakeholder Relations
- Provide leadership and oversight on reputation and stakeholder relations and management
- Provide leadership and oversight on compliance with regulatory frameworks across all functions
- Formulate capital budget and expenditure
- Formulate Brand and Marketing budget and expenditure
- Ensure effective management of MOUs between Freedom Park and stakeholders
- Assess risks related to the corporate services function
PARK OPERATIONS
- Manage Freedom Park visitors
- Ensure the effective utilisation of all other resources (including Assets, Infrastructure, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS
Masters Degree in an appropriate field, such as HR, Social Sciences or Business
Management, Communications/Marketing, Industrial Psychology, Public Administration.
EXPERIENCE
At least 8 to 10 years relevant experience at a Senior Management level in a Corporate
Services environment.
Proven track record as a Head of Department/business unit. Experience in Financial Services, especially Employee Benefits, Pension Fund and Retirement Benefits and Administration will be an added advantage.
