Freedom Park is a national monument and heritage destination dedicated to honouring all those who gave their lives in the struggles for freedom. It is established as a cultural institution reporting to the Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture and is situated at Salvokop, on the southern tip of Pretoria. Freedom Park is looking for ethical individuals who have a passion to contribute to national reconciliation and social cohesion. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of temporary Brand and Marketing Officer.

JOB SUMMARY

To plan, co-ordinate and execute the branding and marketing activities for Freedom Park so as to maximise the exposure of the monument’s brand to multiple audiences across different platforms. 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Promote Freedom Park as a national monument and heritage destination, as well as a tourist site.
  • Implement, and monitor all branding and marketing campaigns on behalf of the organisation.
  • Plan and execute promotional events and campaigns.
  • Research and analyse data to identify and define audiences.
  • Identify marketing opportunities and potential growth areas for the brand.
  • Manage and develop the organisation’s brands.
  • Manage day-to-day activities and outputs of creative, digital, web and all marketing service providers.
  • Manage advertising and related campaigns aimed at enhancing the brand.
  • Develop and implement social media marketing initiatives.
  • Manage inputs/content (daily/weekly/monthly) on online (website) and social media platforms.

PREREQUISITE

  • A Bachelor’s degree or national diploma
  • 3 Years experience in brand management and/or marketing in a big organisation

COMPETENCY IN THE FOLLOWING

  • Computer literacy (MS Office).
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Creative thinking.
