Freedom Park is a national monument and heritage destination dedicated to honouring all those who gave their lives in the struggles for freedom. It is established as a cultural institution reporting to the Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture and is situated at Salvokop, on the southern tip of Pretoria. Freedom Park is looking for ethical individuals who have a passion to contribute to national reconciliation and social cohesion. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of Online Marketing Officer.

JOB SUMMARY

A dedicated young person with an understanding of online media. Brand Transformation -by infusing creativity and innovation into our social media campaigns, we aim to reshape our brand image and make our spaces more appealing to a diverse set of professionals.

A dynamic young Social Media Specialist will leverage their energy and enthusiasm to draw attention to our spaces, turning them into thriving hubs for work, collaboration, and social interactions.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

 Content Creation: Develop engaging and relevant content for various social media platforms, including but not limited to text posts, images, videos, and infographics.Social Media Management: Manage and maintain our organization’s social media accounts, including the website, intranet, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other relevant platforms.Audience Engagement: Monitor, respond to, and engage with the online community, fostering positive interactions and building relationships with followers and fans.Social Media Advertising: Plan and execute paid social media advertising campaigns to increase brand visibility and achieve marketing goals.Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of social media efforts and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.Trend Analysis: Stay current with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices to ensure our organization’s digital presence is up to date.Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team and other relevant departments to align social media strategies with overall marketing and communication goals.    

PREREQUISITES

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency with social media management
  • 3 Years experience in content creation, including graphic design, copywriting, and video editing. An active and verifiable social media profile will be a key prerequisite.
  • Familiarity with social media advertising platforms like Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, and LinkedIn Ads.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creativity and the ability to think outside the box to create engaging content.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide insights.
  • Knowledge of social media algorithms.
  • A keen eye for design and aesthetics.
