702 Walk the Talk Returns in 2025 — Freedom Park Joins in Celebrating 45 Years of Community Spirit
The iconic 702 Walk the Talk is making a powerful comeback on Sunday, 27 July 2025, marking 702’s 45th
anniversary and its enduring commitment to unity, wellness, and active citizenship. This year, Freedom Park is proud to be a host venue for the event, standing shoulder to shoulder with Primedia and the City of Tshwane in creating a meaningful experience that connects heritage, community, and movement.
Walk Through History: Choose Your Route
Participants can choose from three symbolic routes, each offering a unique experience of reflection,
celebration, and fitness:
- 4km Fun Walk – Starting at Government Street and ending at the Union Buildings
- 6.7km Mandela Tribute Walk – Starting at Freedom Park, honouring Madiba’s legacy as the journey
winds toward the Union Buildings - 8km Challenge Walk – Also beginning at Freedom Park, designed for those seeking a more intense
experience

Freedom Park is more than a venue — it is a living monument that tells the story of South Africa’s liberation and reconciliation. Hosting the Walk the Talk aligns with our mission to bring people together across backgrounds and generations to reflect on our journey as a nation.
Park and Ride Details
To ensure smooth access and minimize congestion, a Park & Ride system will be in operation:
- From Pretoria (Unisa, Menlyn, Fountains Valley): R60 per person
- From Johannesburg (Montecasino, Sandton City, Melrose Arch, Mall of Africa): R130 per person
Shuttles will depart from 06:00 and return from the Union Buildings by 16:30.
