Freedom Park is a national monument and heritage destination dedicated to honouring all those who gave their lives in the struggles for freedom. It is established as a cultural institution reporting to the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture and is situated at Salvokop, on the souther tip of Pretoria.
Freedom Park is looking for an ethical individual who has a passion to contribute to national
reconciliation and social cohesion. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and
experienced persons for the position of Financial Reporting Specialist.
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Financial Reporting Specialist is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the
preparation, analysis, and distribution of financial reports for both internal and external
stakeholders. S/he will ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards,
and timely delivery of financial information to support decision-making and regulatory
requirements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Cashbook processing and management
- Cashflow management
- Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Monthly, quarterly and annual closings
- Manage Accounts receivable, assets and all reporting
- Management of Revenue, Grants and FP Debtors
- Prepare financial statements and working papers.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements in all
financial reporting. - Preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders (NT, DSAC, Auditors, etc)
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as, corporate governance and Heritage and
Knowledge, to gather necessary information for reporting. - Maintain accurate and organized financial records, ensuring that data reconciliations and audits
are performed regularly. - Assist with internal and external the audit process
- Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance in
financial reporting. - Assist in the development and implementation of reporting processes and controls to improve
efficiency and accuracy. - Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support strategic decisionmaking.
- Contribute to special projects related to financial reporting enhancements or system
implementations. - Any Ad hoc as required and directed by Finance Manager.
Experience and Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years post CA (SA) qualification experience.
- Strong GRAP technical knowledge and knowledge of CaseWare
- Proficiency in financial reporting software and tools.
- Strong knowledge of financial analysis techniques and data interpretation.
- Excellent understanding of regulatory requirements related to financial reporting and disclosure.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Knowledge - Strong GRAP technical knowledge and knowledge of CaseWare
- Proficiency in financial reporting software and tools.
- Strong knowledge of financial analysis techniques and data interpretation.
- Excellent understanding of regulatory requirements related to financial reporting and disclosure.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Advanced Skills in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and analysis.
